Plans to stage a Serie A match between AC Milan and Como in Perth have been abandoned.
The game would have been the first European domestic league fixture played outside its home country.
Serie A said escalating and unacceptable demands made the proposal financially and logistically unworkable.
The requests came from the Asian Football Confederation and affected Australian authorities and league organisers.
Italian officials had approved the relocation because the San Siro will host the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics opening ceremony.
UEFA later granted reluctant permission for the move.
Serie A viewed the match as a chance to promote the league internationally.
However, AFC conditions, including control over match officials, caused delays and uncertainty.
The decision follows a similar cancellation by La Liga involving Barcelona and Villarreal in the United States.
